Every 2nd & 4th Tuesday
9:30 am – 11:30 am
Becoming a MOPS member allows you to participate in a movement that is helping women all around the world become not only great moms but also leaders in their communities. When moms are well equipped they can support and encourage one another. Being a mom might be the hardest job you’ll ever have but we bet that it’s the best one too! Sometimes you just need a safe space to breathe, get much need encouragement and share some yummy snacks. MOPS Membership provides resources (and lots of fun goodies) that remind you that we are all in this together. The fall program begins on September 12 and meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. The program continues through May 8, and ends with a picnic on May 22. Childcare is provided.
Hearts & Hands Prayer Ministry
Every Monday – 6:30 pm
Join us on Monday evenings as we gather together to pray for those in need, as well offer special thanks in times of joy. In addition we will make cards of encouragement, birthday cards, and get well wishes to send to those in our hearts. Bring in your favorite stamping or crafting supplies!
Corporate Prayer Ministry
Every First Sunday
We have formed a Corporate Prayer Ministry open to all who love the Lord – and have a desire to express a heart for prayerful worship and faithfully seek the face of God. Amazing things happen when believers come together and pray, and impossible victories are often won. Please join us on the first Sunday of each month as we pray for God’s blessings and protection, for the health of our church family and leadership, and for God’s direction for our future.
Women’s Ministry Bible Study
Please join us as we continue our current Bible Study entitled “Abide” – based on the Book of John. This study is focused on who Jesus is, His life, and abiding in Him. “A Study of Psalm 119” will begin on October 26 that will encourage us to seek the Lord as we examine God’s character, and the importance of Scripture. Our women’s studies take place every Thursday evening beginning at 6:30 pm, and are open to women of all ages. Mothers … please plan to bring your daughters. Devotionals will be provided.
Note that the schedule for this study group has moved from Tuesday evenings to Thursday evenings.
Every 1st & 3rd Thursday
Men, please join our Iron Men group! All of us experience life’s problems, and bumps along the way. Even though we may not have the answers, God is always willing and ready to help us accomplish all that He has determined for us to do. Together we will learn how to sharpen each other and encourage one another to walk in His will for our lives. Join with us as He helps us grow to be the men that He has called us to be.
Homeless Outreach Ministry
November 4 Trip to New York City
According to a recent report, over half a million people in the USA live on the streets, in cars, in homeless shelters, or in transitional housing. Of that number, 206,286 are people in families, 358,422 are individuals, and 25% of the entire group are children. 15% are considered chronically homeless. 8% are veterans with 1.4 million veterans at risk of homelessness. One of the greatest ways we can help make a difference is by reaching out to those in need. And the need is great among our homeless. Our Homeless Outreach Ministry is planning quarterly visits to nearby major metropolitan areas as well as within our own county. Our next trip, planned for November 4, will be to New York City.
Noon – 4 pm
Kimmels Church is pleased to again be the official ‘tea and cookies’ stop on this year’s Holly Trail. The Holly Trail is an annual fundraiser for the Orwigsburg Library and has long been a tradition to the start of the holiday season with a tour of area homes decorated for Christmas. We hope you will be able to join us on December 2nd and experience the sights and sounds of Christmas as you enter our driveway and carolers greet you at the front entrance with the joyful sounds of your favorite Christmas music. Be sure to stop in our foyer and have your family or individual photograph taken (photographs will be emailed a day or two later). You’ll also quickly enjoy the smell of Christmas cookies and spices coming from the kitchen! As you enter our Sanctuary you’ll see our 20’ Christmas tree and be amazed by beautiful poinsettias, white lights, and greens. Table and seating areas will be available. Please be sure to take a few minutes of fellowship time and enjoy a cup of hot cider and our wonderful homemade Christmas cookies.
